Trust the Lord

Proverbs 3:5-7

Pastor Tim Feldman

Discussion Questions

1. Read Jeremiah 9:23-24. Knowing the Lord is much better and more important than our own wisdom. How does this affect the way that I trust the Lord instead of leaning on my own wisdom? How does my knowledge of the Lord (and His character) and my trust in the Lord (based on His character of steadfast love, justice, and righteousness) bring Him delight?

2. We often struggle to trust what we do not know. How can I grow in my knowledge of God’s character in order to trust Him more (both through difficult times of life and at times when my wisdom contradicts God’s wisdom)?

3. When my wisdom contradicts God’s wisdom, the problem is not with God’s wisdom. At what times of life do I struggle with leaning on my own wisdom instead of God’s? How can I submit my thinking and my wisdom to God’s, knowing that His wisdom and His ways are perfect, even when I do not fully understand them?

4. We are called to acknowledge (know) the Lord in all areas of our lives. In what areas of life do I struggle to know the Lord and follow His guidance and direction? What areas of life do I want to hold on to and go my own way? Am I willing to submit to the Lord in these parts of life?
